Wedge & shims is kind of traditional tool have been used for eons in the stone industry and even today

it’s still among the most cost-effective tool for splitting stone. It has other names like hand splitter and plug & feathers.

One set of wedge & shims include 1 wedge and 2 shims. Generally speaking, 3 sets of wedge and shim

are required for perfoot of length of stone. The depth of drilled hole depends on the length of wedge.
